Behind the Scenes at ASQS Calgary: A Small Team Making a Big Impact

ASQS    /    March 24, 2025

The ASQS Calgary office plays a crucial role in our global iQSMS support network. As one of our three international offices, this small but mighty team of dedicated professionals provides essential support to clients across the Americas while collaborating seamlessly with colleagues in Vienna and Bangkok. Let’s meet the team and discover how they contribute to ASQS’s mission.
A Day in the Life: Supporting Clients Across Time Zones
A typical day in the Calgary office begins with the essential morning coffee, followed by coordination meetings with the Vienna team. “If there’s no meeting with the Vienna team, we hold one within our office to go over ongoing tasks, set priorities, address any internal questions, and share updates from other offices,” the team explains.

Throughout the day, the Calgary team handles incoming support tickets and works on pending configuration tasks. The afternoon might include a well-deserved break in the building’s lounge for some ping pong or mini golf, before returning to tackle complex technical challenges.

“When working on difficult tickets, we collaborate by discussing potential solutions, delegating testing, and sharing our findings to deepen our understanding of issues our users are facing,” they share.

A Close-Knit Support Team

The Calgary team, consisting of Dannielle, Kensey, and John, has developed an efficient working relationship. “With just three of us on the team, open communication comes naturally. Collaboration is effortless because we’ve fostered a judgment-free environment where every question is valued.”
This close-knit dynamic creates an atmosphere where knowledge sharing happens organically. “We strive to continuously expand our collective knowledge on iQSMS’ system functionalities, so we always try to share any new insights with each other,” the team notes.

Global Collaboration: Bridging Vienna, Bangkok, and Calgary
“Twice a week, our mornings kick off with meetings with the Vienna team, setting a positive tone for the day,” the team shares. “These meetings go beyond just work – they’re a blend of iQSMS discussions and lighthearted conversations about everything and nothing.”

These regular interactions build strong relationships that transcend professional boundaries. “One moment, we’re deep-diving into system configurations, and the next, we’re learning the origin of a ‘jerry can’ or discussing the latest events,” they note.

The global connections extend beyond virtual meetings. “Both Kensey and Dannielle have had the opportunity to visit the Bangkok team during their personal vacations, spending a few hours to visit the office and to have lunch together,” the team adds.

Meeting Global Needs with Local Expertise

The Calgary team’s North American presence is strategic for ASQS’s global support model. “Having teams across Asia, Europe, and North America allows ASQS to provide global support with a deep understanding of regional differences,” they explain.

This regional expertise becomes particularly valuable when navigating varied regulatory environments. “The aviation industry operates under diverse regulations, such as those in Canada versus the EU, and having team members exposed to the different problems that our North American customers face enables us to better advocate for these customers and offer tailored solutions.”

The result is a comprehensive support model that ensures clients receive timely assistance regardless of their location. “No matter where our customers are located, they receive assistance without having to wait for another business day in urgent situations,” the team proudly states.

A Workplace Culture That Values Wellbeing
Beyond their professional skills, the Calgary team emphasizes the supportive workplace culture at ASQS. “To prioritize your mental health and wellbeing. In some cultures, it is frowned upon to miss work for any reason other than an emergency. ASQS really prioritizes everyone’s well-being which is a refreshing and kind approach,” Danni shares.

This culture extends to their relationships as a team. “We enjoy hanging out even outside of work and can always depend on each other when delegating tasks,” they add. The result is an office environment where collaboration thrives and work-life balance is respected.
