Catching Up with Florian Lis-Srajer: A Look Inside ASQS Bangkok
Career & Culture / January 24, 2025
Florian, congratulations on your recent promotion to Deputy Managing Director. How have you settled into your new role, and what are your impressions of Thailand and Bangkok? Has anything surprised you or exceeded your expectations?
Sawasdee khub!
Bangkok is one of the world’s megacities and I really appreciate the vibrant energy here. The city’s rich culture, delicious cuisine and welcoming atmosphere make it a truly inspiring place to work. It is fascinating to explore the city on the weekends and there is so much to see. I am really happy to say that I have arrived in Bangkok and I am proud to be a part of the team here.

A Look Behind the Scenes
Florian, can you run us through a typical day at the ASQS Bangkok office?
I would say that every day in the office is different and brings unique challenges and opportunities, making our work dynamic and engaging.
Typically, we start the week with a team meeting to discuss ASQS and customer news, priority tasks or projects and goals for the week. This meeting is critical for me because it helps us to discuss important topics efficiently and allows for communication between all team members.
Mornings I typically reserve for meetings and projects here in the APAC region – this is the best time to align with most of the different time zones here in the region. In the afternoon, I typically connect with our team in Austria, to ensure a seamless communication flow.
How is the team organized and what services are offered to iQSMS customers?
Our team in Bangkok is structured in various departments. I am proud to say that we have a very efficient mix of skills and expertise in our team here.
The largest team here in Bangkok is the Regulations Team. Our colleagues here work closely with their colleagues in Austria, in order to provide the best service for our clients around the globe.
I am happy to say that we also have colleagues working for the Operational Excellence, 2nd Level Support, Project Management and Server Administration Team here at our office in Bangkok.
Outlook
Yes, that’s correct. I am really happy with the decision taken by ASQS senior management to grow the team here in Bangkok. We’ve recently welcomed new team members to our office, which continues to serve as an excellent hub for connecting with the aviation community throughout the Asia-Pacific region. For those interested in joining us, I encourage you to regularly check our career page for future opportunities at ASQS Bangkok as we continue to expand our presence in the region.
How has this experience in Bangkok contributed to your own personal and professional growth so far?
I moved here at the end of August, so it hasn’t been such a long time yet, but I would say that this experience has definitely broadened my perspective. The welcoming atmosphere I experienced here in Thailand certainly helped me a lot to settle in quickly.
What are your long-term goals for the ASQS Bangkok office?
To continue what started here in Bangkok back in 2018.
Being a reliable and innovative partner for existing and also future customers in the APAC region. Based on our ASQS values of competence, dedication, collaboration and trust.
