It is our pleasure to announce that Captain Pich Damrongmanee will be joining our Bangkok team as new Deputy Director General of ASQS Ltd., effective July 1, 2022.
Capt. Pich has been part of the aviation industry for 24 years and held several management positions in national and international organizations. Holding both a fixed wing and rotary wing license, Capt. Pich worked his way from a line pilot to flight captain and gained most of his flying experiences in helicopter offshore operations, thus bringing a wealth of knowledge to ASQS in this field. He is member in several associations, including the Thai Pilot Association Technical Committee (Helicopter Operations), Helicopter Association International (HAI - globally the largest helicopter association), the IFALPA Helicopter Committee as well as the International Society of Air Safety Investigators.
His fixed-wing pilot license led him to a brief period as a line pilot with Thai Airways before his passion for helicopters drew him back to the helicopter industry, where he worked for various companies in Thailand. His positions included Flight Safety Officer at SFS Aviation and Chevron Thailand as well as Flight Operations Manager at United Offshore Aviation (UOA). He ended his aviation career in 2019 after which he worked as an Aviation Operations Consultant and Deputy General Manager for a company in the maritime industry.
Now his passion for flying has brought him back to the aviation industry and to ASQS.
Capt. Pich is a familiar face to us at ASQS. We worked together during his time as Flight Operations Manager at United Offshore Aviation, where he was closely involved in the implementation of our Integrated Quality and Safety Management System IQSMS.
In his new position as Deputy Director General of Bangkok-based ASQS Ltd., our Thai subsidiary, Capt. Pich will be responsible for the further growth and strategic direction of ASQS Ltd., succeeding his predecessors Larisa Patrascu and current Director Business Development APAC, Jonathan Frey. Holding the Thai and Canadian ATPL helicopter licenses, Capt. Pich will also be involved in further promoting IQSMS to the helicopter sector in both the APAC region and the Middle East, as well as the North American market working alongside Jonathan Frey.
His familiarity with IQSMS, combined with his extensive experience in the business and his understanding of the specific industry, market and regulatory requirements for a modern SMS are a great asset to ASQS Ltd.. In addition, Capt. Pich's experience in managing flight operations as well as in cultural development and sustainable workforce development will allow him to easily integrate into the team and further keep the company on its path to success.
With Capt. Pich, I am delighted to see a true industry expert join ASQS in our Bangkok office. With all his experience in multiple positions, especially in the field of safety management systems, we will be able to further optimize services for our customers, not only in the Asia-Pacific region, but worldwide”, said Günther Schindl, CEO of the ASQS Group.
